Arthur R. Berge, age 82 of Osage, died Friday, September 10, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osage Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday at the church from 10:00 till 11:00. There will also be a time to greet the family and have lunch and fellowship following the services, in the fellowship hall. Arthur was born April 13, 1939, in Osage, the son of Pervin and Louise (Sorlie) Berge. He graduated from Osage High School in 1957 and then from Waldorf College in 1960. Arthur was united in marriage to Mary Mitchell on October 15, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Osage. They had two sons, Paul and David. Mary died on March 14, 2000. On September 17, 2005, Arthur was united in marriage to Connie Brown at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He worked at Oliver/White Farm Equipment in Charles City as a Industrial Engineer for 35 years and A to Z Drying in Osage. Arthur belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, sang in the Church Choir for over 50 years, in different Men's Quartets for over 40 years and played in both the Osage and Nora Springs Community Bands. He was a master craftsman of furniture and clock maker. Arthur had been a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Berge of Osage; sons, Paul (Jenifer) Berge of Ames, David Berge of Ames; stepson, Brian Schutzman of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughter, Melissa Schutzman (Ryan Smuck) of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Christian, Kyler and Kaelyn; brother, Loren (Barb) Berge of Osage; three sisters, Lois (Chuck) Ruehlow of Osage, Margaret (John) Lattimore of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Vulk of Spencer; several nieces and nephews; and extended family. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Mary.
