March 14, 1940 - October 21, 2024
Paul L. Beyer, age 84, of Austin, Minnesota, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, peacefully with his sister, Sharon, by his side at Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, Minnesota. Paul was the fifth child of 14. He was born on March 14, 1940, to Mary and Joseph Beyer at home in Mitchell, Iowa. Growing up in rural Iowa, he attended both a country school in Mitchell and public schools in St. Ansgar throughout his childhood. In his young adulthood he joined the Army, completing his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri at the age of 22. Following this he was stationed in Germany for two years. After returning home, he met a Michiganite named Pamela Reed, with whom he fell in love and married in November of 1973. Their family began on a farm in rural St. Ansgar, and after having three kids together, they built an earth home wherein they would raise their four children. The two separated in June of 1986, and Paul would later find love again with Linda Boe Wolfe, whom he married in August of 2014. He loved hunting, playing basketball, picking up various house and car projects for friends and family, studying the Bible, and trying his hand at a variety of crafts, like puzzles, glass sculptures, and toys. In his later years, he would often be found driving around his beloved Chevrolet S10 while listening to old gospel music. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He liked to play softball on Sunday afternoons with his siblings and neighborhood friends, fixing up beater cars for his kids to drive around until they fell apart, and sledding in the creek with his grandchildren every winter. Above all else, he is remembered for his selflessness, his hardworking attitude, his boundless and creative humor, and his profound love for the Lord. Paul is survived and remembered by his wife, Linda; his children, Adam (Kelly) Beyer of St. Ansgar, IA, Holly (Mike Niehus) Camerer of Marcus, IA, Kipp (Paula) Beyer of St. Ansgar, IA, and Jake (Kenzie) Beyer of Coon Valley, WI; 10 grandchildren, Chloey (Brennan) Wallin, Jaidyn Beyer, Bailey Beyer, Cole Camerer, Spencer Beyer, Cade Beyer, Chase Camerer, Madison Beyer, Beckham Beyer, and Jett Beyer; siblings, Mary Bell, Charles (Esther) Beyer, Verona Spooner, Jorene (James Iverson) Gunderson, Joe (Pam) Beyer, Leone (Don) Kofoot, Myrna (Greg) Klemesrud, Sharon (Tony) Brown; his many nieces and nephews; Linda’s children, Kris Boe, Karla Boe, and Kari (Matt) Swigerd; good friends, Sam Crosser and Kenny Schomenan; as well as many other loved ones.
