Robert C. Lewis, age 89, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Robert was born on December 23, 1934, in Osage, Iowa. The son of Wellington and Amy (Willey) Lewis. He graduated from Osage High School in 1952, following high school Robert enlisted in the United States Army. After returning home he went on to graduate from Iowa State University in 1958. Robert met the love of his life Ann Doudna, and the two were later married on August 26, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Osage, Iowa. From this Union they had six children, Michael, Karen, Kathy, David, Dawn, and Daniel. Robert was a dedicated farmer and a well-known Pioneer Seed Corn Salesman. He was a proud member of the United Church of Christ and a regular at Sunny Brae Golf Course. Robert had a passion for being a part of the State Beef Industry, while also serving on the Board of Directors at Home Trust Bank. His interests included golfing, traveling, fishing, and camping, always looking for the best shortcuts to make the journey a little quicker. A true sports fan, he cheered for the Iowa State Cyclones and the St. Louis Cardinals, most of all he cherished spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Robert is survived by his wife, Ann Lewis of Osage, IA; children, Michael (Kimberly) Lewis of Osage, IA, Karen (Richard) Brumm of Osage, IA, Kathy (Glen) Jackson of Piedmont, MO, David (Tracey) Lewis of Madeira Beach, FL, Dawn (Joshua) Kling of Kansas City, MO, Daniel (Kelly) Lewis of Orchard, IA; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, with two to be expected; sister-in-law, Elouise Lewis He was preceded in death by his parents, Wellington and Amy Lewis; brother, James Lewis; sister, Mary Lou Brylowski; brothers-in-law, Arthur Brylowski, Dean Kindschuh, Robert Doudna; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kindschuh, LaVonne Doudna The family invites you to wear Iowa State Cyclone gear to celebrate the life of Robert. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at UCC Church in Osage, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Osage Cemetery with Military Honors by the Osage American Legion Post 278. Champion Funeral Home of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements.
