Scott Bauserman of Osage, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 63. A remarkable husband, father, brother, papa, and friend, Scott had a contagious love for life. He touched everyone he met with his genuine, friendly, and outgoing personality. There simply was no such thing as a bad day, and his kindness and friendliness improved everyone else’s day, making him the most popular friend and companion. His friends fought over who got to play or ride with Baus, because they knew how special that day would be. He truly lived out every last second of every day, and never missed an opportunity to be part of any party. His love of life lives on in everyone who knew him, and even those who may have just met him. He is exactly what this world needs more of. #BeLikeBaus – Be friendly, be kind, and be willing to take the time for whatever is needed. His greatest joy was sharing life with his wife of 34 years, Deanne, and his three daughters, Elyse, Erica, and Leah. Scott was a family man foremost and loved time at home with friends and loved ones, grilling on his back porch with a cold beer and the occasional fine cigar. Scott’s wonderful family life was enhanced by the blessing of four grandchildren. Scott was born on January 25, 1959, in Iowa City, IA, to Steven Clifford Bauserman and Sara (Norris) Bauserman. He graduated high school from Gen. HH Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, and then earned his bachelor’s degree at The University of Nebraska. He met Deanne Jochims in Sioux City and they were married on July 10, 1987. Scott’s charisma, love of people, and his gregarious nature brought him success in his career of sales. He worked in several industries, finally finding his passion in optical sales, working with his wife Deanne’s brother David. Scott was loved by his customers and everyone he met. Friends and family would likely agree that there has never been a more likable and positive person than Scott Bauserman. For the many of us whose lives Scott touched, we will be forever thankful. Our hearts ache with the sudden loss of our beloved Scott but know he is with our Lord in heaven. Scott is survived by his wife Deanne Bauserman; daughters Elyse Chodur (Dan), Erica Koster (Kray), Leah Low (Christopher) all of Osage, IA; grandchildren Summit Koster, Lyric Koster, Flora Chodur, and Josephine Low; sister Nina Hansen (Breck) of Boise, ID; brothers Brad Bauserman of Boise, ID, Brad Bishop of Nampa, ID, Steve Bishop (Goldie) of Boise, ID, and Jeff Bishop (Cecelia) of Cypress, TX; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of life-long friends. Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rick Bishop. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m with funeral service immediately following on Friday, February 4, at Prairie Lakes Church in Osage. In true Baus fashion, we will raise a glass and enjoy pizza while celebrating his life around 4 p.m. at Limestone Brewery on Main Street in Osage. Please bring your best memories to share.
