William Frederick Mueller was born May 28, 1936, at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota to Claire and Elvira (Lutz) Mueller. Bill died on July 19, 2023, at the age of 87. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1950. Bill graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1954. He was in the US Army from 1958-1960 and received an Honorable Discharge after serving in Korea for a year. He attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduated in 1961 with degrees in Business and Geography. Bill moved to the Minneapolis area in 1964 where he worked a variety of jobs until retiring in 2001. He then moved to Hudson where he lived until 2008. He moved to Chanhassen in 2008 and resided in the Twin Cities area until his death. Bill enjoyed reading, keeping up on current events, and attending church at Mount Olive Lutheran in Anoka, and St. John’s Lutheran in Corcoran. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events and would show up at 7:30 AM even in the snow or rain. He was always up for a good game of checkers or pool. He enjoyed the activities at his senior living apartment complex including bingo, trivia, exercise, and painting. Bill is survived by two daughters; Lynne Olien of Fargo, ND, and Jeannie (Rob) Paris of Dayton, MN; four grandchildren; Ryan (Kelly) Olien, Rebecca Olien, Kyle Paris, and Adam Paris; one great-granddaughter, Emma Olien, and sisters; Gretta Nickerson of Marshfield, WI and Marie Teggatz of Hampton, IA, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Claire and Elvira; his stepfather, Julius Kittleson; his brother, Steve Mueller; and two grandsons, Nathan Olien and Justin Olien. There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, July 30 at 2:30 PM at St. John’s Lutheran in Corcoran, MN, and a Funeral Service at Schroeder Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa on Monday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour before the service.
