Betty Clark, 95, of Osage, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 ,2023 at Sacred Heart Church in Osage with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Following services, cremation will take place with inurnment at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Betty was born March 24, 1928, in rural St Ansgar, Iowa, to Henry and Louise (Everest) Sonberg. She attended rural school Burr Oak #8 and graduated from Osage High School in 1945. Betty was employed at Park Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, from July of 1945 until her marriage to Eugene “Gene” Clark on February 28, 1946, at the Sacred Heart Rectory in Osage, Iowa. They lived on the Clark farm northeast of Orchard all of their married life. Over the years, Betty worked at North Iowa Community Action, Fox River Knitting Mill, Mon-Ray Windows and was employed for 20 years in the dietary department of Mitchell County Regional Health Center, retiring in December of 1996. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Guild, St Theresa’s Circle and the VFW Auxiliary. Betty very much enjoyed her kids and grandkids, and being a great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She also enjoyed her garden and flowers, traveling, fishing, crafts, crocheting and daily “nature” walks. Betty is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Huber of Charles City, IA; Sherri (Joe) Stoltz of Elk River, MN; Diane (Ken) Emerson of Osage, IA; Linda (Al) Winters of Osage, IA. five sons, Bill (Cindee) Clark of Osage, IA; Tom (Deb) Clark of Osage, IA; Michael (Kathy) Clark of Osage, IA; Larry (Lori) Clark of Osage, IA; Jeff (Liz) Clark of Rudd, IA; 27 grandchildren, Dan, Sue, Heather, Melissa, Jason, Derik, Matt, Katie, Joshua, Angela, Tami, Tina, Amy, Adam, Dustin, Nick, Jessica, Paige, Shana, C.J., Caleb, John, Catherine, Joseph, Grace, Anna and Samuel; 40 great-grandchildren . Sister Sheryl (Bob) Nassif of Rochester, MN; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, dear friends and loved ones. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Clark in 2007; her son Dean Clark in 1977; grandson Matt Milbrandt; son-in-law, Roger Huber; and brother Donald “Jack” Sonberg.
