Lola Knutson, 94, of St. Ansgar died Monday, November 27, 2023 at Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in rural St. Ansgar. Burial will be at Deer Creek Cemetery. Lola was born almost 95 years ago on Christmas Eve on the family farm 2 ½ miles west of Carpenter. She lived on the same farm with her brother, Stanley, and in the same house until 2020 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Their family farm became a Century Farm in 1984. Lola worked at Carrol George in Northwood, but her most important job was caring for her aging parents. Lola was very proud of her Norwegian and family heritage. She enjoyed Rosemaling, making Lefse, taking care of flowers and loved to read. She was an active member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church where she was a member of her entire life. She taught Sunday School and was in ladies circle. Lola is survived by her cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sever and Stella (Gordon) Knutson and brother, Stanley.
