Eythel Lulu (Baxter) Rowcliffe, age 99, of Osage, died Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Pastor Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the church Eythel was born March 19, 1922 to Robert Bapty Baxter and Edna Jane (Rouse) Baxter in a farmhouse in rural Ayrshire, Iowa. She will be celebrating her 100th Birthday in Heaven. Her childhood found her with her family, picnicking, fishing and swimming at Silver Lake in the summer and ice skating in the winter. Following High School, she attended Nursing school graduating as a Registered Nurse. Eythel practiced Nursing in Colorado, Iowa and Oklahoma. She was very proud that she was a Registered Nurse from the minute she passed her Nursing Boards until her last days. Eythel used her nursing degree all of her life tending to her children, neighbor children and anyone in need. Eythel married Walter Rowcliffe June 17,1946. To this union 9 children were born. They made their home in the Nora Springs, area until moving to their farm southwest of Orchard. Eythel and Walt later purchased Rowcliffe Machine Company where she worked as the bookkeeper, secretary and cookie baker. Coffee & cookies were served daily at ten and three. Eythel enjoyed dancing, camping and playing in the Kitchen Klatter band. She was very active in Osage VFW 7920 and Orchard American Legion Auxiliary. Eythel loved serving Faith Lutheran Home as a volunteer sewing/mender and helping the residents with Bingo and many other tasks. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in serving the Lord. Eythel is survived by her children Norma (David) Brunner, William “Bill” (Angela) Rowcliffe, Donita (Roger) Link, Willis “Bim” (Debi) Rowcliffe, Walter “Wally” (Dana) Rowcliffe, Julie Rowcliffe, Nancy (Paul) Danzow and Nadine “Chip” (John) Eberhardt. Eythel has been blessed with many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Eythel was preceded in death by her husband Walter, son Wesley and daughter Bonnie. Her Parents, Robert and Edna, siblings Leslie, Harry, Ernest, Ellsworth, Rolland, Helen, Marie, and Mildred all wait to greet her in Heaven.
