January 18, 1949 - October 19, 2023
James (Jim) Alfred Wagner passed away Thursday, October 19th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle, officiating. The burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military Rites by the Osage American Legion Post 278.. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the church . Born in 1949, Jim was the 3rd son of Herbert and Rose (Stephanie) Wagner of Stacyville, IA. He attended grade school at Visitation and graduated from Marian High School Stacyville. After high school, Jim was drafted into the United States Marines where he proudly served from 1969-1971. Shortly after returning from service, he met and married Linda Mullenbach of Johnsburg, Minnesota, on April 29, 1972 and they had 51 years together. Their family quickly grew with the addition of their 3 children: Chris, Kevin and Debi. An avid Twins fan, Jim could often be heard both praising and complaining about the team at the same time. Jim was also a jack-of-all-trades that enjoyed woodworking, dabbling in various building projects, and jumping in on whatever projects his kids could throw his way. Jim was routinely spotted surrounded by friends, sharing a cup of coffee and swapping stories. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. There wasn’t a concert, game, or play that was too far for him to drive to. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Mullenbach) Wagner, his children - Chris Wagner (Darlene) (Grimes), Kevin Wagner (Carrie) (St. Ansgar), and Debi (Wagner) Kirkestue (Corey) (Postville), his sister - Mary Michels (Stacyville), and his brother - Robert Wagner (Grace) (Stacyville), sister-in-law Joyce Wagner (Adams) and his grandchildren - Sydney, Ryan, Leah, Emma, Sarah, Jacob, Adam, Hayden, and Trey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents Herbert and Rose, his in-laws Norbert and Alice, his brothers John and Daniel, and his sister Cecilia, his brothers-in-law Samuel and Mathias Mullenbach, Gene Michaels, sister in-law Norma Mullenbach and nephew Calvin Mayer.
