James “Jim” Rezabek, age 86, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at St. Mary’s in Rochester, MN. Jim was born August 3, 1938, the son of James Sr. and Marie (Jakoubek) Rezabek. Jim graduated from New Haven High School and worked for Oliver/White Farm for 33 years, and Eaton Corporation for seven years. Among other things, he ran Jim’s East End Grocery. A skilled and self-taught farmer, sheep shearer, mechanic, carpenter, and handyman, Jim was renowned for his ability to tackle any project with expertise and creativity. Jim especially enjoyed woodworking and created many beautiful pieces that he shared with friends and family. Jim was married to Ann Rezabek (Freund) for 65 years, father to Ron Rezabek (Kathy), Lori Hagen (Bill), Dennis Rezabek (Henry), Cathy Newton (Ray), Christi Carr, grandfather to 10, great-grandfather to 12, and a cherished friend to many. Preceding him in death were his parents James Sr. and Marie, in-laws, Lawrence and Christina Freund, two brothers, three sisters, two brothers-in-law, one nephew, and son-in-law Brian Carr. Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or Sacred Heart Church. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday prior to the service. Champion Funeral Home of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.schroederfuneralhomes.com.

Jim is in our prayers. We remember visiting with him and Ann at our happy hour in Des Moines several month's ago. What a nice man he was and we enjoyed hearing of his many years in Osage, Ia.
