On Friday, December 18, 2020 Eric Andrew Hackenmiller, loving husband and father of three sons passed away due to injuries sustained from a vehicle accident on December 8th. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. On Wednesday, December 23 at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be the day before from 3:00 till 7:00 p.m. At Visitation Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer. Eric was born February 21, 1975 in Postville, IA. The son of Charles & Beth (Thome) Hackenmiller. He attended and graduated from Osage High School in 1993, attended North Iowa Community College for one year before returning home to help on the family dairy farm. For the last 20 years he was employed at Grain Miller's in St. Ansgar. Eric had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, trapping, making maple syrup and teaching his three sons the trades of life survival skills. He also enjoyed attending the local race tracks, participating and assisting his sons with tractor pulls. He loved sitting around the campfire telling stories to no end. He also enjoyed making everyone he met smile and feel loved. Eric would do anything for anyone whether he knew you or not. He will be truly missed by everyone. Eric loved to dance especially to Country Western Music. He charmed his dancing moves to the woman who became his wife, Christine (Michels) Hackenmiller on April 26, 1997. Together they raised their three sons Jeremy, Devan and Bradley. Eric was the boys' number one fan while following them in their high school sports he also enjoyed following his nieces and nephews in their various activities; he especially loved spending time with his Goddaughter. He also loved his two girls (dogs) Lilly and Dixie. Eric took pride in his town of Stacyville and when out and about he would invite anybody and everybody to come a have a beer with him at Brat Days. He is survived by his: wife, Christine; sons, Jeremy, Devan and Bradley; mom Beth; brothers, John (Angela) and Jeremy; mother-in-law, Mary Michels; father's widow, Shirley Hackenmiller; in-laws Theresa (Lee), Vickie (Danny), Laurie (Terry), Pat (Angie), Audrey (Daryl), David (Heidi), Lynette (Tom); several aunts, uncles and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his dad, Charles Hackenmiller, father-in-law, Eugene Michels, grandparents and other aunts/uncles. As an expression of sympathy donations may be mailed to Community Cares P.O. Box 158 Stacyville, IA 50476 memo line: Eric or Christine Hackenmiller in lieu of flowers.
