  • Note: There will be a gathering of family and friends for one hour before the service beginning at 1:00. The family is requesting masks to be worn along with social distancing during the services. Inurnment will be at Osage Cemetery

Cleo Jean Mitchell, age 88, of Osage, died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 Friday, February 19, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends for one hour before the service beginning at 1:00. The family is requesting masks to be worn along with social distancing during the services. Cleo was born September 8, 1932 in Osage, Iowa to Harry and Daisy (Lancaster) Miller. On November 7, 1954 she married Clinton Mitchell at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osage. Cleo was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Joy Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary. Cleo enjoyed loudly cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins and watching numerous other sports. Cleo did many needle point projects and canned a variety of produce coming from the garden that Clint tended. She enjoyed playing card games, was a great caregiver of family, friends and neighbors. Cleo is survived by her children, Dennis (Melanie) Mitchell of Mason City, Dwight (Karla) Mitchell and Diane (Greg) Condon of Osage, grandchildren; Bethany Condon of Iowa City, IA Brett Condon (fiancée Jenna) of Maple Grove, MN, Brodie (Heather) Mitchell of St. Ansgar, IA and Jordon (Hilary) Mitchell of Osage; great-grandchildren, Layna, Brevin, Mylah, Kian, Soren, Brayden, Gage and Colton; sister-in-law Joan Miller of Casper, Wyoming brothers-in-law Lester (Oma) Mitchell of Red Oak, Texas, Arthur (Connie) Berge of Osage, several nieces and nephews. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Roy Miller, Willard Miller, Oral Miller and sisters, Helen Willey, and Perna Virchow.
