Sharon Kay Aase (Amundson), 78, of Northwood, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Lake Mills Care Center under hospice care in Lake Mills. A funeral service will be held on at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25 at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood with Rev. Becky Sogge officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home. Sharon was born March 26, 1943 at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, MN to Ray and Juliet (Overland) Amundson. Sharon enjoyed people greatly, and had an amazing sense of humor. She had her own beautiful, crazy, and unique ways. From her impeccable taste in design and fashion. To her crazy phrases she'd say like "Koochie Woochie Ooo LaLa" and "Ooskie Booskie Oolie Woolie Hoo Hoo" and "A bushel and a peck, and a hug on the neck" and "Sugar plummy, you old dummy" and few others I shouldn't mention. "Ha, ha"! Sharon graduated in 1961 from Albert Lea, MN. She married in 1969 and to that union a child was born, Debra Kay Wolff. They later divorced… Sharon later in life met her soulmate and love of her life, Steve Merle Aase. They were married August 13, 1977 and a year later moved to the farm. Sharon cherished the farm; the animals, the fresh air, the privacy. She loved everything about the country. Sharon was a HAPPY and PROUD farmer's wife. She would work all day; have supper ready for when Steve got done with work so he could go back outside and work some more on the farm. She cared for her husband, Steve deeply! Sharon was generous as to feeding others that helped around the farm as well. Sharon did a lot of work around the farm, she'd help Steve in anyway she could. She'd do all sorts of chores; castrate pigs, ran skid loaders – you name it. She loved to go on saw dust runs with Steve, spending anytime with her sweetheart she valued. Sharon and Steve shared 29 beautiful years together. Sharon lost Steve in 2006 unexpectedly. Part of her went with him. Now they are reunited and dancing in heaven. Sharon was known for many great things, for example she had a tremendous work ethic. She was strong, dedicated, and resilient. Sharon would do many jobs men could not! She knew you had to work hard to get what you want and need in life. Sharon was also very punctual; she was never late, if anything she was always early. Sharon worked several years waitressing, which is one job that she said she loved doing. Later she then worked very hard for 18 years at Wilsons/Farmstead in Albert Lea. She did several jobs there; hog kill, castrating, ect. But for the longest; weighing bacon. Sharon the worked 10 years at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. There she worked in the laundry department. Sharon the retired and continued to work on the farm with Steve. Sharon had many Hobbies; things she liked and loved. Sharon had a green thumb. She used to garden, and had lots of flowers/ plants both inside and outside of the house. She also loved to sew, she made clothes for herself, her daughter, and others. Sharon was very crafty and always had projects going. She would embroider sweatshirts and other items for family and friends, she would also sell some of the items she made. Sharon would always embroider your name on towels for Christmas gifts. She has taught several children how to sew including her daughter, her grandchildren, and more. As the years past, she unfortunately lost the interest in sewing herself. Sharon loved music a lot, country was her all-time favorite! Most of all she had the biggest crush on Elvis Presley; she'd sew/embroider shirts, pillows, and throw blankets. If Elvis was playing, she was singing and dancing right along! Sharon always said she wasn't much of a singer, nor dancer but that never stopped her from busting a move, or from singing a song or two! Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends. She attended her daughter's sports and dance activities. Sharon was a very supportive mother. She also loved to attend her grandchildren's extra- curricular events; sports, dance concerts, ect. She was always proud of her grandkids and their accomplishments. Sharon and Steve would go for rides in the pickup, listening to their favorite country music, and stopping somewhere for supper. She enjoyed going to thrift stores and finding treasures for little cost. That runs in the family "Ha ha". When Facebook came about, Sharon kept in touch with family and friends through social media. She liked to spend a lot of time on Facebook so she could stay connected to the ones she loved. If Sharon saw posts or statuses she liked, she'd print them out, and hang them around her computer desk; pictures of family and friends, or just quotes and sayings she resonated with. Facebook was the world to Sharon. She might not have typed much other than "Love You" but she did the emoji's a lot! Sharon loved living on the farm, and would share with others all the different animals she would come across. She had several farm dogs throughout the years, Tasha being the last. They were all spoiled by her love. In eternal life she is rejoined with her parents Ray and Juliet; her brother, Robert; sister, Carol; her sweetheart and husband, Steve; several aunts, uncles, some cousins and friends. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra McDole; grandchildren, Nathaniel Wolff and Natasha McDole; nephew and Godson, Ray Amundson; nephew, Robert White; nieces, Susan Deer, Ann Amundson; several cousins; mother-in-law, Marcella (Sally) Aase and many, many friends. You are forever loved, and You LIVE within whomever you share precious and unforgettable memories with… You will be missed by so many!
