June 3, 1956 - November 9, 2024
Paul K. Jennings, age 68, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Paul was born June 3, 1956, in Osage, Iowa, to Francis and Mildred (Seter) Jennings. He grew up on the family farm in Orchard and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. He enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, and running wild on the farm. Paul attended Osage High School, graduating in 1974. Upon getting his Agricultural Business Degree from NIACC in 1976, Paul worked as the Feed Mill Manager at Farm Service. Later he attended Buena Vista and earned an Accounting Degree. In his junior year of high school, he met the love of his life, Donna Labert. They were joined in marriage on May 23, 1976, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and made Osage their home. Paul was a man of great faith, strength, wisdom, and integrity, who always put his family first. Paul enjoyed his family, farming, agriculture, sports, coaching his children’s ball teams, and visiting with people. He was frequently seen driving around checking out area crops and livestock, as well as attending local sporting events. Family and friends knew that if a Hawkeye, Viking, or Twins game was televised, he would be watching. With his gift of a photographic memory, he could accurately provide the career history and stats for almost any player, in addition to sound advice on almost any topic. Survivors include his wife Donna; children, Anthony (Heather) Jennings of Reno, Stephanie (Myles) Jennings of Minneapolis, and Katie (Brandon) Arickx of Osage; grandchildren, Darius, Devyn, Dawson, Stella, and unnamed grandson arriving any day (whose soul is being prepared for his family and this world by his grandfather); siblings, David (Diane) Jennings, Elaine (Rick Regel) Jennings, Neil Jennings, Deborah Jennings, and Natalie (Dan) Olson; mother-in-law Berniece Labert; siblings-in-law, John “Mike” Labert, Cheryl (Mark) Hemann, and Rebecca Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his compassionate, dedicated caregiver and friend of 10 years, Brittni Kingston, including her family and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mildred Jennings; his father-in-law John Labert; sister-in-law Sharon Nuehring Mihm; and brother-in-law Dennis Nuehring. Memorials may be sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (Osage) or St. Croix Hospice (Charles City). A private family gathering will be held at a later date to honor his life. Champion Funeral Home of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.schroederfuneralhomes.com.
