Phyllis Schallock, age 91, of Osage, died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Pastor Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday February 24, 2022 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Masks are preferred for the services. Phyllis was born in Osage, Iowa, on June 3, 1930, the daughter of Oliver and Viola (Jacobson) Cummings. She attended and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948. Phyllis married Lloyd Schallock on September 3, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. They farmed in the Floyd area until moving to Little Cedar in 1966. They moved to New Haven area in 1974, where they retired. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Phyllis worked at Cedar Valley Egg Processing Plant, was a cook at Gingham Inn, White House Care Center and Osage Senior Citizens Center, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed reading books and making cookies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis most of all enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by: her children, Barb Murray of Humboldt, Charles (Carolyn) Schallock of St. Ansgar, Mike (Donna) Schallock of Decorah, Wayne (Nadine) Schallock of Mason City, Cindy (Ron) Flugge of Osage, Lori (Danny) Novak of Charles City and Colleen (Robert) Martin of Orchard; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Pat Bublitz of St. Ansgar; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lloyd in 2010; and sister, Leona Zacharda.
