Linda Karen (Haugen) Lagoni of St. Ansgar, Iowa passed away on February 18, 2023 at Mitchell County Hospital in Osage, Iowa. Linda was born on January 14, 1952 in Osage, Iowa to Odell and Gerd Haugen. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 22, 1967 at the Mona Lutheran Church in Mona, Iowa. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1970 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Mankato State College in 1974. After high school Linda spent many years traveling around the world and even spent time living in Nicaragua where she taught English. One of the greatest joys of Linda's life were her dogs, and she went through her life with many canine companions. She was a devout member of the American Kennel Club as well as the St. Bernards Club of America. She enjoyed both breeding and showing her dogs and was extremely proud of her beloved St. Bernard Bo who was an AKC Grand Champion showdog. Linda was also a proud member of the Breakfast Club of Parker, Colorado. Linda spent the last 20 years of her life battling cancer off and on and in the last year she was also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. She fought hard, but ultimately lost her battle. She is survived by her: brother, Terry Haugen and his wife Faye, their daughter Karen (Todd) Blood of Holomen, WI, their sons Erik (Brooke) and Matthew (Candice) Haugen of St. Ansgar, IA; stepchildren Trisha Wilson of Littleton, CO, Cami Gervais of Jewett City, CT, and Casey Lagoni of Tualatin, OR; great nieces and nephews, Morgan, Ashlyn, Chase, Cullen, Claire, Griffin, Amelia and Evelyn. She is preceded in death by her parents Odell and Gerd, and her Uncle Leland and Aunt Hattie Haugen. Services for Linda will be led by Pastor Scott Meyer at Mona Lutheran Church in Mona, Iowa on Saturday, February 25th at 10:30 am, with a private viewing for the family beforehand beginning at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Linda's honor to your local humane society.

I will never forget Linda's common sense, her love for her dogs and her kindness to me. We were both new in a working environment that was not too friendly, but we became walking buddies and soon others were joining us and she was able to change the working environment just with her sense of humor and kindness. Linda was a wonderful friend and I will always cherish the time God gave me with her. Rest your soul, Linda
