Travis Allen O’Malley, 15, lost his battle with mental health on July 3rd, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Travis was born on February 9th, 2008, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, Iowa. He was the son of Nicole O’Malley and the late Thomas Buttolph. He was the brother to Autumn, Mason, Noah, Kaegen, Isabelle, Charlie, Asher, and Roman. Travis attended Osage Community Schools where he had just completed the 9th grade. Travis was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was preparing for his confirmation in the coming year. You could always find Travis pages deep in a book. Reading took Travis on so many adventures and sometimes if he enjoyed the adventure enough, he would reread it several times. He also loved sketching and drawing. Travis got to experience his first pottery class this last year at school. Not only did he find art to be therapeutic, he was also learning how important music can be in our lives. Travis also loved to know the details on the things that interested him, and he was leaning towards working with wind turbines. Travis is survived by his mother, Nicole O’Malley of Orchard, and siblings, Autumn O’Malley of Iowa City, Mason O’Malley of Osage, Noah O’Malley of Osage, Kaegen O’Malley of Orchard, Isabelle O’Malley of Orchard, Charlie O’Malley of Orchard, Asher O’Malley of Orchard, and Roman O’Malley of Orchard. His grandparents Trent Linkenmeyer of Riceville and Anne Linkenmeyer of Osage. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Travis was also lucky enough to have so many chosen family members, also. Chuck and Teresa Knecht and their families, Ron and Marilyn Venz, and Malcom and Tera Schenker and their daughter Addison who have all came into Travis’ life by the power of adoption and they all loved him as their own. .
