Bonnie L. Motland, age 93, of Osage, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bryan Odeen officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery. Bonnie was born October 30, 1927, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elsie (Taylor) Fuller. She grew up in Osage and graduating from Osage high School on May 25, 1945. Bonnie was united in marriage to Leonard R. Motland on August 26, 1945, at the First Baptist Church in Osage. She worked for Fox River Mills, where she retired from. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran church in Osage, where she worked on the serving committee in the early 1960s. Bonnie's favorite hobby was gardening. Along with Leonard, they enjoyed growing vegetables and canned most everything they planted. This hobby followed them when they moved from their farm into town. They always ended each planting season with their picnic table lined with veggies for neighbors. Their homes were surrounded by beautiful flowers as they each had a green thumb. Bonnie also enjoyed cooking as she had lots of practice perfecting her skills while planning lunches for the hired hands on their farm. She enjoyed preparing large meals when her family came together for the holidays. She tried her hand at crocheting and we all enjoy using her "not so square" kitchen cloths. There was no doubt how much Bonnie loved her family. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Halbach of Waverly: grandchildren, Stephanee (Gary) Campbell of Adkins, Texas, Mark (Wendy) Halbach of Waverly and Nicholas Halbach of Osage; great-grandchildren, Branden (Shaneene) Campbell, Taylor (Sam) Campbell, Bo (Alicia) Campbell all of San Antonio, Texas, Emily Halbach and Hannah Halbach of Waverly; great-great grandchildren: Mellodee, Leland, Landyn and Conor. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard in June of 1999; her son, James in May of 2010; and her sister, Betty in January of 1996.
