Brian Lowell Hahn, 53, of Kensett, IA died as a result of a vehicle accident on November 9,2023. He was born in Mason City, IA to Helen Neibauer (Hahn) and Charles Hahn. He grew up in Kensett, IA and graduated in 1988 from Northwood/Kensett High School. He went on to take classes at NIACC and then graduate with a bachelors in history with minor in education from Buena Vista in 1994. That same year, his life took a turn when he started his own cleaning/janitorial business that he ran successfully until his death. In 2009, Brian was united in marriage to Heather Root. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball for many years ending with the Davies Softball team. Just six months prior to his passing, he started playing cornhole. It became his passion and he quickly used his pitching skills for a new sport. This summer he played Cornhole at the Iowa Games and finished in first place. He also loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Twins, and Minnesota Vikings. He was very generous and always believed in giving people a second chance or helping them get back on their feet. He is remembered by his wife, Heather Hahn, his mother, Helen Neibauer and her husband Thomas, sister Leah Tarrant and nieces Susie and Maggie. He is also remembered by Heather’s family, parents Leon and Bev Root, sisters Tonya Root, Melissa & Chad Simmons, and nieces and nephews Erin, Jonathan, Aiden and Jessica. Other aunts, uncles and cousins will also cherish his memory. He was proceeded in death by grandparents Lowell and Lula Hahn and Julia and Glenn Olmsted, and his father Charles Hahn. Visitation will start at 2 pm with a Celebration of life at 3 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Harvest Bible Chapel at 2200 N 24th St in Clear Lake, IA. Since Brian enjoyed cheering on the Hawkeyes, Twins and Vikings, family is requesting you come casual and wear the team apparel of your choice.
