I remember Ruth Robb! I am thankful for her life and sharing with me...the gift of aviation! For it was her that offered me an airplane flight a long, long time ago from the grass airfield at Northwood Airport. Though my age was in the single digits the impression of "slipping the surly bonds of Earth" lasted. I graduated Northwood-Kensett HS and embarked on a career 26-year career in the USAF. Where I maintained several different aircraft. When I recall that first flight, it ignited in me a life of service and of flight. Mrs. Robb, "...dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings; sunward you climb, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Thank you for your mentorship. Respectfully, Wesley

I was blessed to know Ruth for many decades. First as a teenager when the Jaspers and I rode our horses next door. Sometimes we would rescue skydivers from your corn field. Then as a teammate on the VFW softball team. I was only in high school and Ruth was a wonderful athlete and fun person! Then as an adult when she co-owned a plane with my mom. And finally in her later years as I made numerous trips to Northwood. Heaven has gained an angel and we have lost a kind, patient, caring, intelligent woman that I've admired for 60 years. RIP Ruth.
