Shirley Ann Funk, age 93, passed away Monday January 15th, in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 – 12:30 prior to the funeral at the church. The burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Shirley was born in Carpenter Iowa, October 10, 1930, the daughter of Marion and Lawrence Feldt. Shirley graduated from Carpenter High School and received an Associates teaching degree from Cedar Falls. She was united in marriage to Lavern “Bud” Funk on Dec 4th, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Bud and Shirley moved to New Hartford Iowa where Bud taught for two years before returning to the family farm in Osage following his father’s heart attack. They remained on the farm until 1990 before building a house in Osage. Bud and Shirley were both members of the Our Saviors Lutheran Church and Shirley served on numerous committees over the years. Shirley took great pride in her family and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, supporting her family with unconditional love and generosity. She was an extraordinary homemaker and well known for her cooking ability, which was self-taught, and hosted numerous events for friends and family over the years. She had many dear friends within the community, and those within her bowling league and card clubs. Bud and Shirley enjoyed traveling together within the U.S. and abroad. She was especially fond of the trailer they bought in the mid 80’s at Lake City where they spent their summer weekends. She and Bud found life-long friends in that community, in addition to their cherished Osage friends. She was proceeded in death by her mother and husband. Her survivors include her four sons, Steve (Shannon) of Apline WY, Tracy (Tess) of Osage, Todd (Heather) of Winona, MN, and Spencer (Cindy) of Onalaska, WI. Her daughter in laws, Paige Amsler, Peggy Funk and Elizabeth Funk. She currently has 12 cherished grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, 641-732-3706
