Mildred Rachel (Millie) Fredricks, age 90, of Stacyville, passed away, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Stacyville Community Nursing Home. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa with Chaplin Al Polito officiating. Millie was born on February 1, 1934, in McIntire, Iowa. The daughter of David and Alice (Nicholson) Dunn. She graduated from McIntire High School in 1953. Following graduation, Millie married Roger Fredricks on June 11, 1955, at the First Baptist Church in McIntire, Iowa. From this union they had a daughter. Millie worked at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home for over 30 years, as well as at the Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, caring for people with disabilities for 20 years. Millie was a caregiver, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and a blessing to all who knew her. The greatest pride and joy in her life was her granddaughter, Sunsett. She loved spending time with her friends, going to rummage sales, the casino, and traveling. She took many trips across the country. She especially loved visiting her sister and family in Colorado. Millie loved to crochet, gifting many beautiful treasures to family and friends. She was generous in donating many Afghans to the Lyle Cancer Telethon in Lyle, MN. Later in life Millie reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Norm. They enjoyed dancing, going for drives, and just spending time together. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her beautiful smile, and never-ending love and kindness shown towards others, especially those in need. Millie is survived by her daughter, Dawn Fredricks; granddaughter, Sunsett Reynolds of Minneapolis, MN; her companion, Norm Durben of Austin, MN, along with many close friends, nieces and nephews. Millie is proceeded in death by her parents, David and Alice Dunn; husband, Roger Fredricks; infant son, a brother, William (Bud) Dunn, and a sister Betty Van Hook. The family would like to give special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Mitchell County Regional Health Center and the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.
