March 30, 1930 - July 29, 2024
Marie Christine (Aagesen) Kittleson, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa, where she has resided for the past three years. Marie was born on March 30, 1930, in St. Ansgar, Iowa, to Arthur and Albina (Cafourek) Aagesen. Marie graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1948. On September 24, 1950, she married the love of her life, Kenneth B. Kittleson in St. Ansgar. They were blessed with 72 years of marriage prior to Ken’s passing in 2022. This union produced five children, Ronelle, Dayle, Brent, Kristin, and Kevin. Marie was a homemaker and worked as a dental assistant in Austin, Minnesota. In 1969, Marie and Ken relocated to a farm, in the Township of Trenton, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She worked for Hillside Hospital and did in-home daycare for the Burie children. She continued her education at Moraine Park Technical Institute in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, receiving her Practical Nursing diploma in 1980, and became an LPN. In 1984, Ken and Marie moved back to St. Ansgar, to Marie’s childhood home, to care for her parents. She continued her nursing career late into her 70’s working at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage and Good Samaritan Home in St. Ansgar. In retirement Marie and Ken enjoyed traveling to different states either through their timeshare or with their fifth wheel. They especially enjoyed their trip with the fifth wheel to Alaska. They also enjoyed their trips back to Wisconsin to see family and friends. Marie enjoyed ceramics, knitting, camping, and helping others. Marie was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a faithful member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and of First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa, where she was very active in bible study. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in St. Ansgar. Marie is survived by her children, Ronelle, Dayle, and Brent (Kelly) of Beaver Dam, WI, Kristin (Carey) Copeland of Fox Lake, WI, and Kevin (Patti) of Horicon, WI; brother-in-law, Jerry of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Ben (Rachel), McClain (Amanda), Dale, Rochelle (Scot) Spielvogel, Chad (Autumn), Keith, Katie, Kayla, Collin (Brooke), Deja (Kari) Montgomery, Adam Copeland, Kyle (McKenzie), and Annika; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; parents, Arthur and Albina; in-laws, Ben and Hazel Kittleson; brother-in-law, Lester; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maxine (Roy) Carter; sister-in-law, Marjean Kittleson; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Kittleson. Special thanks to Pastor Staley for the visits, scripture, song and all the help you have provided to Marie and Ken over the past few years. The family would also like to express their appreciation to the exceptional staff both at Faith Home Assisted Living and Faith Lutheran Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Marie. The memorial service for Marie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the First Lutheran Church, 212 Main St. in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Christopher Staley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Schroeder-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
