Glen “Pickle” L. Adams, age 86, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home. Glen was born September 3, 1937, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Reinhart and Margaret (Hemann) Adams. He attended Osage schools, where he completed the eighth grade, and went onto work on the farm for E.B. Moore Farms. Glen married the love of his life, Erma Jean Eckford on February 3, 1962, at Sacred Heart Church in Osage. Their union was blessed with nine children, Larry, Dan, Lori, Sandy, Monty, Wayne, Mike, Todd, and Coleen. He went on to work for White Farm Equipment until they closed the doors, from there he worked for his son at Adams Painting and Drywall, all while still farming 120 acres and raising hogs. Glen was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and a KC member. He was a devoted fan of the MN Twins and enjoyed various outdoor activities, including softball, camping, hunting, gardening, and fishing. Glen was also a dedicated cook and baker, known for delighting his loved ones with delicious meals and treats on Sundays. He could often be found enjoying a cold beer on the porch and sharing his homemade cookies with anyone that stopped by. Glen was a devoted family man, who always looked forward to annual family trips for 61 years to Perham, Minnesota. His grandkids will always remember him as the mastermind behind games like the “bean bag” and he liked to play dominos and card games. He also enjoyed “scooping the loop” around town every day at 3:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Erma Adams; children, Larry (Donna) Adams of Plover, WI, Dan (Sheila) Adams of St. Ansgar, IA, Lori Hoisington of Osage, IA, Sandy (Larry) Kramer of Byron, MN, Monty (DeAnn) Adams of Cameron, MO, Mike (Dawn) Adams of Osage, IA, Todd (Jennifer) Adams of Orchard, IA, and Coleen (Dave) Berhow of New Haven, IA; daughter-in-law, Roberta Adams of Stacyville, IA; 23 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and sister, Beverly “Dudy” (Leslie) Weber of Stacyville, IA, and sister-in-law, Veronica Adams of Stacyville, IA. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhart and Margaret Adams; In-laws, Glen and Margaret Eckford; son, Wayne Adams; son-in-law, Brian Hoisington; siblings, Marvin Adams, Ruth Mayer, Donald Adams, and Dean Adams; and sister-in-law, Sally Younker. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with a K.C rosary at 9:15 am. Champion Funeral Home of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements.
