Doris O. Martin, age 91, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Doris was born on December 30, 1932, in Klemme, Iowa, to Ferry and Elsie (Christiansen) Tibbits. Doris attended Fertile High School, graduating in 1950. After graduating, she went to work for a telephone company, as well as for weight watchers, and helping around the farm. Doris married Rodger Martin on March 25, 1961, together they had two children, Robert and Sarah. Doris was a passionate soul who found joy in the simple things in life. Her hobbies included delving into genealogy, capturing moments through her camera lens, crocheting intricate patterns, tending to her garden and flowers, and creating many dishes in the kitchen. She also enjoyed spending time on the farm. Doris is survived by her husband Rodger; children, Sarah (Tim) Smith, Robert (Colleen) Martin; as well as 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald; stepsister, Stella; and stepbrother, Arthur. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Orchard Cemetery. In leu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of Orchard.
