Ted J. Heimer, age 79, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, peacefully at his home. Ted was born on November 28, 1944, in Rochester, MN, to Paul and Margaret (Beland) Heimer. He attended Visitation High School in Stacyville, IA, where he graduated in 1962. Following graduation, he served from 1965-1970 in the Minnesota National Guard. On New Year’s Eve in 1966, Ted Married Barbara Campbell at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, IA. Together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. They were blessed by two sons, Paul and Mike. They lived on the family farm for 51 years and during that time he raised various animals including cattle, hogs, horses, sheep, goats, deer, chickens, turkeys, pigeons, and rabbits. He was known for his frog leg, turtles, rabbits, and fish fry’s. During his career, he worked 18 years at Oliver/White Farm Equipment, along with five years working for Hormel in Austin, MN. Later, he worked at Moorman’s/ADM over 25 years selling feed. He was a top seller that earned many trips that he and Barbara appreciated. Ted was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church his whole life, he was also a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Pheasants Forever. In retirement, he kept himself busy volunteering at the food pantry in Osage and the VFW Thursday night steak fry’s. His garden and farm stand were a hallmark of Ted Heimer. His love for the Hawkeyes, Vikings, and Twins has been passed down to his sons and grandchildren. Hunting and fishing were lifelong passions for Ted. Weekly, he could be found attending the Cedar Valley Produce Auctions with numerous friends purchasing more vegetables. He will be remembered for his giving spirit and drove countless miles chauffeuring around Amish and Mennonite friends. Ted is survived by his wife, Barbara Heimer of Osage; sons, Paul Heimer of Freeport, IL, Mike (Angie) Heimer of River Falls, WI; grandchildren, Jess (Karlie), Jack, Elly, Hannah, and Carter; great grandchildren, Luke and Theodore; brothers, Joseph (Virginia) of Escondido, CA, and Robert (Vikki) of Davenport, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, IA. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Todd and I want to express our sincere sympathy to all of you. We and the kids absolutely looked forward to our day at the cabin with the family. I must admit I’m a little disappointed I was never invited to this frog leg fry you guys had! Lol. Ted was a great guy and always made me feel welcome. We will miss him terribly but feel extremely blessed to have some pretty great memories. I wish we could be with you all tomorrow. We will put a flower on the ocean in remembrance of him. ❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ted Heimer family at this time along with our sympathy for your loss. He was a wonderful person and very grateful we got to work together after the merger with ADM feeds. My son and I Enjoyed the pheasant hunts / ice fishing on the pond with Ted and would always end up at the cabin for lunch but ended up more like a buffet. May you find comfort at this difficult time and cherish the memories.
