Kevin Edwin Dammen, a devoted family man and pillar of his community, passed away at his home in Osage, Iowa, on February 2, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born on November 3, 1957, to Edwin and Adeline (Brandt) Dammen, Kevin spent his life building strong bonds with those around him. Kevin was married to Nancy Rowcliffe, with whom he shared the joy of raising four children: Jason (Mindy) Dammen of Glenwood, Iowa; Chad (Michelle) Dammen of Jenison, Michigan; Josh (Ashley) Dammen of Osage, Iowa; and Lynn (Adam) Hain. Although they later divorced in 2000, Kevin's love for his family remained unwavering. He took immense pride in watching his children grow and start families of their own. His passion for working on anything with a motor was a testament to his hands-on spirit. Throughout his career, Kevin demonstrated a remarkable commitment to his community. He dedicated over 20 years to Wallace in Osage before serving as the Mitchell County Recycling Center Attendant for more than 15 years. Upon his retirement in July 2023, he left behind a legacy of hard work and dedication that inspired those around him. Kevin is survived by his four children and their spouses, his brother Larry (Andrea), and sister Carole. He also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren: Cadence, Emma, Jevin, Carter, Sage, Luke, Abe, Aizlee, Kynleigh, Grayson, and Rhett. The joy his grandchildren brought to his life was immeasurable, especially during the festive Christmas season. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Adeline Dammen, and his brother-in-law Darwin Benson. Kevin's legacy will be remembered for his unyielding work ethic, his love for his family, and his tireless service to Mitchell County. His impact will continue to resonate through his children, grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years. A visitation to honor Kevin will be held at Champion Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A family burial will follow on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell.
