Donald L. Levendusky, age 87, of Mitchell, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home. Donald was born on the family farm in Fairbank, Iowa. At the age of two, the family moved to their farm east of Hazelton, Iowa. Don went to school in Hazelton. He worked for some farm families in and around the Hazelton area. In 1961, he moved to Osage. In 1962, Donald met his wife Phyllis on a blind date. They later married on September 29, 1963; they were married for 61 years. Donald was a dedicated hard worker who spent many years driving a milk truck for Mell Elliot, picking up canned milk for Twin Cedar Dairy. He later took on roles at Iowa Beef in Mason City and then worked for Wilson Foods and Farm Stead in Albert Lea, Minnesota. His career path eventually brought him back to Mason City, where he worked at Con Agra until he retired. Even after hanging up his work boots, Donald kept busy with seasonal jobs at the Stacyville Elevator and Agvantage. He took many family trips and enjoyed camping. He loved his sons and his grandchildren. During his retirement years he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting and musical events. Donald is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Mitchell, IA; sons, Tracy Lee (Laurie) Levendusky of Osage, IA, Troy Jay Levendusky of Osage, IA; grandchildren, Tate Dean (Maddie) Levendusky of Minneapolis, MN, Wade Lee (Katie Mayer) Levendusky of Riceville, IA, Joy Anna (Daniel) Levendusky; brothers, J. Russel (Janet) Levendusky of Harrison, AR, John Levendusky of Waterloo, IA; sister, Rose Mary Levendusky of Waterloo, IA, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo (Anna) Levendusky; brother, Franics (Mariea) Levendusky, and sister Joan Levendusky. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home in Osage, IA. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Osage. The burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell, Iowa.
