Richard Allen Rosenberg passed away under hospice care at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa on January 25, 2021, at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife Betty of St Ansgar, son Joseph ( friend Melissa) of St Ansgar, daughter Julie (Waylon Brown) of Osage, grandchildren Remy & Raina Rosenberg of Rochester, MN and Reece & Elyse Brown of Osage, IA, brothers Bradley(Pearl) Rosenberg of Roberts, WI & Jeffrey(Kris) Rosenberg of Grafton, IA, sisters Rebecca (Marc) Haxton of Clear Lake, IA & Susan Horsfall of St. Ansgar, brothers-in-law Gary (Kelly) Faas of Lyle, MN & Greg (Mindy) Faas of Osage, IA, sister-in-law Bonnie Faas of Mona, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Rosenberg, Phyllis Norby & Harvey Norby, and granddaughter Bree Rosenberg. Richard was born on March 24, 1952, to Robert Rosenberg and Phyllis Norby. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School and attended NIACC. He started Rich's Spraying Service in 1971. He married Betty Jean Faas on November 18, 1972. Richard and his father Robert started R & R Fertilizer in 1973 and worked with his brothers. After the Fertilizer Business, Richard raised livestock and grain with his wife and son until his death. He was a Director for Heartland Power since 1993 and President of the Board of Directors since 1995. Richard enjoyed going out to Sturgis and riding motorcycle in the Black Hills with a stop in Rochford for a Grain Belt beer. He also enjoyed many 98.7 tractor rides. Family was really important to him and he enjoyed spending a lot of time with his grandkids. This last summer the kids got Richard a man's best friend, a puppy, and he named her Marshmallow. A funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. On Monday, February 1, 2021 at Heartland Power Cooperative (110 East Industrial Park Dr.), St. Ansgar with Rev. David Werges officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Richard's life. A Visitation will be held from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Heartland Power Cooperative (110 East Industrial Park Dr.), St. Ansgar. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
