Edwin Duane Jordan, 90, of Northwood Pines Assisted Living, Northwood, IA, died February 25, 2021, at MercyOne in Mason City, IA. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, IA with Pastor Mark Squire officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service. Edwin Duane Jordan was born July 2, 1930, in Mitchell County to Ferdinand and Bertha (Bork) Jordan. He joined an older brother Alfred Jordan. Edwin was baptized July 20, 1930, and confirmed his faith on April 2, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, IA. He went to the Rock #2 country school. Edwin served in the army during the Korean War. He came home on leave and married Betty Bartz on February 3, 1952, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, IA. After being honorably discharged from the military they began farming southwest of St. Ansgar, IA. To this union two children were born, Linda and Larry. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle, hogs, and chickens. Besides farming he did side jobs such as custom corn shelling, baling hay, custom spraying, and selling McNess feed and Watkins products. He spent many summer days mowing and baling the road ditches and took great pride in how they looked. Edwin had a talent for tearing apart old machinery and making something completely different out of it, such as round bale movers, and trailers to haul machinery on, without any plans. He enjoyed using his sawmill that could saw tree trunks up to 30 inches across into lumber. Ed got great satisfaction using his home sawed lumber to construct many heavy duty hay racks and shelves. Edwin is preceded in death by his parents Ferdinand & Bertha Jordan, his wife Betty of 58 years, brother Alfred Jordan, brother-in-law Elmer Schultz, and in-laws Harvey & Malinda Bartz, and Dr. Russell & Judy Hickman. Edwin is survived by his daughter Linda (Kenneth) Kroneman of Osage, IA, son Larry 'Al' (Linda) Jordan of Georgetown, TX, grandchildren Renae Kroneman of Osage, IA, Travis (Megan) Kroneman of Osage, IA, Jessica (Coty) Brasuell of Loveland, CO, Tresa (Kirk) Sehlmeyer of Port Angeles, WA, Amber Jordan of Hutto, TX, great grandchildren Peyton, Caydence, and Fayth Kroneman, Jordan and Everett Brasuell, in-laws Bonnie (Virl) Deal of Grafton, IA, Sharon (Alan) Anderson of Northwood, IA, and Richard (Jeannette) Bartz of EauGalle, WI, and nieces and nephews.
